About AFCR Select

AFCR Select: The Next Step in Our Player Pathway

We are thrilled to officially announce the launch of AFCR Select, the newest evolution of our player development model at AFC Rochester. Following the success of our pilot Select program with our 2011 age group, AFCR Select will expand to offer a full Premier pathway for dedicated and ambitious players throughout the region.

What Is AFCR Select?

AFCR Select is our Premier-level platform, offering an advanced environment for players who are ready to train and compete at a higher level. This program is built to bridge the gap between travel soccer and elite performance, creating a complete pipeline from recreational soccer to travel, and now to premier competition.

Program Structure:

AFCR Select will begin this season with teams at the 2014, 2015, and 2016 birth years. In addition, we are launching full-year academy teams at the 2017 through 2019 age groups, offering an immersive and long-term development experience for our youngest emerging talents. Our 2011 Select team will continue to train and compete, and we are actively evaluating additional age groups based on player interest and talent.

Why Premier Matters:

Premier-level soccer offers players the opportunity to compete against top talent, sharpen their skills in a focused training environment, and prepare for long-term success—whether their goals are high school, college, or even professional soccer. For AFC Rochester, AFCR Select represents a critical piece of our mission:  To provide a complete and accessible development pathway for every player, from first touch to elite competition.

“AFCR Select is a huge step forward in our club’s journey. It’s an opportunity to elevate our players and give them a consistent, competitive environment to grow within. The foundation we’ve built with our sub-clubs now allows us to offer a true full-circle pathway—from rec to travel to premier. This is an exciting time for our families, coaches, and the entire Rochester soccer community.”
