Spring seasons off to a hot start with three tournament wins are opening weekend! The girls 2013 and the boys 2013 both won the Akron tournament. The 2015 Pittsford team went 3-0 the Irondequoit tournament outscoring their opponents 21 to 4! Not to mention the 2011 boys winning their season opener 2-0 with 10 men!

We’re very excited to announce that we are partnering with Techne Futbol to provide a resource that will guide players in their individual training. Congrats to Brighton Boys Varsity Soccer Team on making it AA Sectional Final, defeating Fairport in Pks! BFC 05 player Isaac Wing sealed the win for the Bruins, while 06 players Matt Piccone and Clay Arnold buried their spot kicks. 06 Sam Robertson stepped up in goal during the kicks. Good Luck in the finals Boys!

Two weeks of Team of the Week!(5/26) Player the Week: Will Messner, who scored 5 five goal in two games to help the 13 Boys team to 2-0 week. (5/4) Player the Week: Ja’Yonna Willis, who had a hat trick in the Girls 2010 5-4 Win over Batavia. Congrats to all!

Congrats to the players who earned a spot on last weeks team of the week! Silvia Labrosa was named Donut Delite Player of the Week. She netted 6 goals in 2 games helping the 2013 Girls team to a perfect start, Congrats Silvia!

We would like to congratulate the nine seniors from the Brighton Varsity Soccer team, eight of which plays/played for Brighton FC. They are killing it this season, and are looking to make a deep run in sectionals. We are so proud 🥲

Brighton FC would like to send their thoughts and well wishes to the family, friends, and teammates of Joshua Ulloa. Sadly and unexpectedly Joshua passed away last Monday. Although Joshua was not a member of the club, he was avid player in the brighton soccer community and was a beloved friend of many of the players in the club. The BFC will remember him this season by adding a patch to all team uniforms in his honor for the 20/21 season. He will be forever remembered and missed.

Congrats to the Boys 04/05 team as well as the 03 Team who will be competing in the inaugural NYW Champions Conference this summer! The NY West Champions Conference is a state level premier league that implements promotion/relegation from teams throughout Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo and the Southern Tier. Good luck to both teams!

BREAKING: #BFC585 Brings in another ALL-AMERICAN to their coaching staff! Emily Janiszewski comes to #BFC585 as the U10/11 Girls coach. After growing up playing soccer in Orchard Park, NY, Janiszewski played for the SUNY Geneseo women’s soccer team. In addition to being a United Soccer Coaches All-American, a four-time All-Conference selection, and 2018 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Defensive Player of the Year, Janiszewski was named Goalkeeper of the Year after she finished as the NCAA Division III Statistical Champion and tied a Geneseo single-season record with 13 shutouts. She helped guide Geneseo to back-to-back SUNYAC Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018, and was key to the Knights' run to the Sweet 16 in 2017. As a coach, Janiszewski is very experienced working for camps, running individual sessions, and coordinating for youth soccer leagues. She has the background and knowledge to develop high quality field players and goalkeepers.

COACH ANNOUNCEMENT: Coach August Finn come to BFC as the U14 boys coach and the U10 boys interim coach. Finn grew up playing for the top youth teams in both the premier and development academy systems around the NYC area. After his youth career, he chose to attend SUNY Buffalo State where he was a 3x all-conference player, team captain, and graduated as the most winning player in program history. Since then, he has had success playing both outdoor and indoor soccer semi-professionally with the Rochester Lancers, and was named rookie of the year for the 2019 season. As a coach, August has vast experience running camps, clinics and individual sessions for boys and girls of all ages, and interned with the men’s program at his alma mater Buffalo State, before accepting the assistant position at SUNY Geneseo in 2019.

ANOTHER ONE: Coach Allen-Caballero comes to Brighton FC as the U12 (2008) Girls coach, and is looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to future players. She graduated from Rush Henrietta Senior High School in 2013 and was a four-year letter winner as a member of the soccer team. Allen-Caballero played select club soccer for Empire United Soccer Academy. A 2017 graduate of Arcadia University, Coach Nene played 3 of 4 years on the Women’s soccer team, where they 3 time ECAC and 1 time MAC conference champion. Nenetzin currently attends the University of Rochester for her MS in elementary education.

COACH ANNOUNCEMENT: William comes to Brighton FC as the U13 Boys Team coach as well as the Club President. A Brighton grad and former varsity captain, Will went on to play Division 1 soccer at Niagara University and finished his career at Buffalo State, where he holds the record for highest save percentage. Coach Banahene went on to play professionally for the Harrisburg Heat in the Major Arena Soccer League where he recently received the All-Rookie team honors. Will has coached and trained goalkeepers previously with Empire, GPS, and Lakefront. He currently coaches the Eastridge JV team and runs a private goalkeeping academy, Elite Goalkeeping Academy WNY. William looks forward to give back to his hometown!
